Two World Powers Are Fighting for the Mediterranean Sea

The nation that gets control of the Mediterranean Sea will rule the Middle East. Iran is prophesied to have two big allies in Africa that are located on the Mediterranean Sea: Libya and Egypt. Libya is an ally already; Egypt will be. Egypt is probably within months of becoming an ally of Iran, the prophesied king of the south! Then Iran will have even more power over not only the Mediterranean Sea but also the Red Sea.

When Egypt allies with Iran, Iran will control the Suez Canal leading into the Red Sea. But Iran wants to control the Mediterranean Sea as well. Historically, wars in that region are won by the power that controls the Mediterranean.

Before the return of Jesus Christ, tribulation is coming. You can prove this truth and rejoice at the positive outcome of world turmoil. Good news is on the way for this very negative world.

The Apostle Paul was familiar with the Mediterranean Sea, traveling it frequently to warn Rome and the world. He became a prisoner in Rome and then a martyr for preaching the same truth of God that I am delivering to you right now. Paul wrote his last letter before being beheaded in Italy next to the Mediterranean Sea (2 Timothy 4).

Libya and Ethiopia are prophesied in your Bible by their modern names. Since these nations border the Mediterranean Sea, and Egypt borders the Red Sea, Iran will be greatly empowered.

Iran also has terrorist proxies like the Houthis that claim Mediterranean shipping is fair game for attacks. The Kuwait-based Al-Jarida newspaper reported that Iran is building drone and missile factories in Yemen, where the Houthis are. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has sent hundreds of experts to train the Houthis in using these weapons. The terrorist arm of Iran is expanding into the Mediterranean!

Germany is part of nato, which has a major presence in the Mediterranean Sea. Where is all this leading?

Germany possesses geostrategic vision, and has for a long time. It has started two world wars and many other wars as well. When we look into its history, we see how vitally important the Mediterranean is to its strategy. It is a top priority, central to its planning.

Germany and Iran are at war for control of the Mediterranean Sea.

Germany has nuclear weapons. Iran is on the verge of obtaining nuclear weapons. What do you think is about to happen?

German Scheming

The Bible foretells four major world-ruling empires in human history, the last of which is the Roman Empire (Daniel 2 and 7; Revelation 13 and 17). Part of that fourth empire is the seven resurrections of the Holy Roman Empire over the course of about 1,500 years.

Germany is prophesied to lead the seventh and final resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire. The 10 kings of this empire are uniting even now! Once they take the Mediterranean Sea, they will seize the entire Middle East.

Germany has already asserted dominance near the Mediterranean Sea. In 2003, European Commission President Romano Prodi said, “[I]n the long run, the Balkans belong strictly to the EU.” This is the Holy Roman Empire speaking! The Balkans border the Aegean Sea, which is adjacent to the Mediterranean.

In the 1990s, Germany sparked a civil war in the Balkans by supporting Croatian and Slovenian independence from the Serbs, and it duped the United States into supporting its takeover of the region. Today, many Europeans want Germany to step up and exercise more power. The seventh head of the Holy Roman Empire has a grand vision of world domination and will soon shock all mankind!

During a visit to Malta in March 2000, EU Enlargement Commissioner Gunter Verheugen said if Malta joined the EU “it would become a gateway. … For Europe, Malta has been described as a springboard to the whole Mediterranean region, and especially to the African and Middle Eastern shores.” Malta has been an EU member since 2004. Malta will take Germany right to Africa, where Libya and Ethiopia are prophesied to be aligned with Iran! (Daniel 11:43). We have proclaimed this warning for over 50 years!

What about Cyprus? Like Malta, Cyprus is an island nation in the Mediterranean and an integral part of German plans to dominate the region. Germany now controls the economy of Cyprus, which is on the doorstep of Iran and Jerusalem. Who today even realizes what is going on here?

Germany and the Holy Roman Empire are repeating history and retaking the Mediterranean. It is no coincidence that Germany lost the Mediterranean before losing World War ii. Germany knows the importance of possessing this sea lane.

Though the world doesn’t see it, Germany is secretly planning to lead an alliance of moderate Arab nations to counter Iran (Psalm 83).

In 1981, our predecessor, Herbert W. Armstrong, wrote, “What the world does not realize is that under cover, secret planning is proceeding furiously, uncovered by the news media and unknown by the public.” Germany is a third superpower rising on the world scene, joining the U.S. and the Russia-China partnership, yet the public knows very little about it.

World War III

For decades, we have told you the identities of the biblical king of the north (a German-led Europe) and king of the south (radical Islam led by Iran). Notice Daniel 11:40: “And at the time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.” Every word of this verse is about to be fulfilled!

Once the king of the north decimates the king of the south, it will enter the “glorious land”: Jerusalem (verse 41). Germany will betray the Jews! It is time for mankind to listen and heed God’s warning.

“He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape. But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps” (verses 42-43). Germany will crush Libya and Egypt for being allies with Iran. Your Bible says so. It will happen. Watch world events closely.

Verse 45 guarantees the downfall of the Holy Roman Empire. But first, it will rise from the ashes of World War ii to cause bloodshed one last time. “The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition …” (Revelation 17:8). The beast will emerge from the underground, the abyss.

Verse 10 is dated to the time of Mr. Armstrong warning about the Holy Roman Empire during the Second World War: “And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.” The seventh resurrection comes after Mr. Armstrong, who died in 1986.

Verse 12 is being fulfilled now: “And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.” For a very short time, a German strongman will lead Europe into war. But here is the good news: “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful” (verse 14). Jesus Christ will return and wipe out these evil empires, and the world will be at peace forever.
